A Dancer in a Choir

I came in here tonight and I started to move

Wasn’t feeling light, feelin’ part of the groove

A little insecurity, a little self-aware

A little immaturity, hey this isn’t fair

Why should I be the one with two left feet

Why am I the only one who can’t feel the beat?

But then I caught a smile and I heard somebody giggle

It took a little while, but I caught a little wiggle

From a girl in fuzzy pants and a guy without a shirt

Then I had a little dance and I had a little flirt

The music got fast and the beat was syncopated

Had myself a blast, got myself elated

A hippety-hop and at the clippety-clop

And a never gonna stop ‘til the tippety-top

But the music came down with a loop and then a glide

And I came into my Clown with a stupid funky slide

Made somebody laugh, made somebody smile

I think I found my path, think I’ll stay awhile

I never would have thought that I ever would aspire

To a body-singing spot as a dancer in a Choir.
