Formal expressions with normal inflection

In rapid succession can give the impression

Of over-compression or lack of suppression

But I promise to letup if you’re so inclined

For I know we’ve just met up, and I’ll not waste your time

With obvious setups and throwaway rhymes

So if you’re content to give your consent

I’ve already spent the time to invent

These verses I bent just to say what I meant, convey my intent

And if you’re so kind as to give me the chance

I’ve made up my mind to make some words dance

In hopes that we find just a little romance

So I hope I come near it, as a bit of a novice

Believe when you hear it that I wish to be modest

And receive in good spirit this Ode to the Goddess
