(Listen to "Ode to the Goddess")
Ode to the Goddess
A moment’s moan’s a melody, your breath beside my ear
That sweetest groan that shelters me, the death of all
my fears
A glance affirming inter-soul intention to ascend
Entrances, causing inter-polar tension to suspend…
Until you shift, at last, and lift, excruciatingly
And I am swiftly cast adrift upon a velvet sea
Of waving undulations in the swirling indigo
A prayer of veneration in the curling of your toe.
Your sultry eyes are glistening,
Your pulse is flying, flickering
Electrfiying, quickening
But then you’re sighing, whispering:
“Too much, too soon, we’ve each come so far.
We’re touching the moon. Let’s reach for the stars.”
A gust, and the candle flames
sizzle and sputter
A thrust, and your supple
frame tangibly shudders
Inducing devotional rising elation
Infusing in motion surprise syncopation
The tumbling rhumba, the rumbling samba
Staccato salsa, and
thundering mamba
You mix it up, you fix it up
You see the candle flicker up
You writhe, alive, arriving in the groove
You lithely glide, and sliding as we move
Together in orbit and through the expanding
Forever absorb it, this new understanding:
The nature of grace, and I’ve found what I’m after:
The light in your face and the sound of your laughter.
